Tell us about yourself – what do you do?

I am Malte Nowag, I am a visual designer, painter, and product designer. I started to paint graffiti in the late 90’s and the combination of painting and architecture especially to work with spaces brought me to my current profession.

I also love to collect records and all these record covers had an impact on me, especially the connection between sound, emotions and visual expression is a huge influence.

What is the background and purpose of the maltenowag.com website?

The site is a shortcut to some of my favorite projects I worked on in the past. It’s a way to give people an idea of my work and my attitude in terms of aesthetics. There are customer projects which are a collaboration between me and the client, but you will find also some free projects I did for my own or for exhibitions.

Why did you pick Weld for the project?

I have no clue about coding or whatever, I take care about how stuff look or feels like. Weld gives me the possibility to create a site without having any background knowledge, which is incredible. I was looking for this kind of tool for years until Weld came around. All the other tools just gave you a template and let you choose the color.

What was it like designing the website in Weld?

It was like a huge playground! First of all I checked out my possibilities and played around with it, tried random stuff, because it was just fun. Its pretty cool to create something on the web within minutes and share it with friends live, ask for feedback and have the option to change it immediately.

What did you discover/learn during the design phase?

Now I understand how responsive design works between the devices.

What’s next for you? Any chance of using Weld in a future project?

Totally, I’m quite curious about the opportunities of Weld and I am really open about realizing future projects with the platform!
